Seagulls (গাংচিল) at Naf River

These photos were captured from the Naf River, Coxsbazar. I was in the see truck, returning from Saint Martin Island. These Seagulls (গাংচিল) flew miles with us for catching foods (Potato Chips) thrown by the passengers.

Saint Martin Island, Bangladesh

Saint Martin Island (সেন্টমার্টিন) is an exceptional tourist destination in Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, the Blue Ocean and the blue sky embrace each other, only in this remote southern island. It is the southern most part of Bangladesh. This Island is wide from North to South and is only 8 km in length. This is a coral Island (কোরাল দ্বীপ), locally known as Narikel Jinjira (নারিকেল জিঞ্জিরা / Island of Coconuts).

The safe time to go to Saint Martin is November to March. There are available Buses from Dhaka to Teknaf (টেকনাফ). It takes about 12 hour to reach in Teknaf from Dhaka. Sea trucks set off at 9.00 a.m. from Teknaf for Saint Martin Island. Approximately (2-3) hours in sea truck will be passed away by enjoying the views of both sides of the river Naf (নাফ নদী).

Recently Saint Martin island has a huge capacity for the tourist. The youngsters who prefer adventure do not need to reserve any hotel before. Because the reservation cost is very high. Rather it will be very cheap and suitable to find a hotel/ rooms there on your own accord.

Last, I had visited saint Martin in December 2011. It seemed to me that the island was loosing its calm nature and wildness. Rather, my previous visit in March 2008 was much enjoyable and tranquillizing. This is my suggestion to everybody to spend at least two nights there to suck the enjoyment of remote island nature.
